Warner Bros. launches DVD2Blu
Warner Bros. letting owners trade in DVDs towards Blu-ray upgrades for nominal charge.
Hoping to lend a helping hand to cash-strapped Blu-ray owners stuck with standard definition DVDs, Warner Bros. announced a new upgrade program called DVD2Blu that allows owners to trade in their old DVDs towards Blu-ray copies for as low as $7.95.
The program is fairly straightforward – simply by accessing the DVD2Blu website (www.dvd2blu.com), users will be able to select which Warner Bros. titles they want to upgrade and pay the difference for a Blu-ray copy.
After mailing out the DVDs, owners will receive their brand new, high definition copies in four to five weeks, and Warner Bros. is offering free shipping for any orders over $25.
“DVD2Blu is a great way for consumers to start or expand their Blu-ray Disc collection,” spoke Dorinda Marticorena, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Marketing and High Definition for Warner Bros., “We’re launching the program with a wide range of titles that will appeal to a broad audience. In the coming months, we’re looking to expand the program and make additional titles available.”
It is worth noting that program is only available to our US readers as of the moment.
