(500) Days of Summer Blu-ray Review

This doesn't happen either!

LIGHT: ★★★★☆
Zooey Deschanel has probably never looked so good. One shot in particular, shown twice in the movie for comedic and emotional effect, shows off both her and the quality of the Blu-ray transfer. You could get lost in those big, blue eyes. Tom certainly does.

There’s a bit of film grain and perhaps a bit of softness, but overall the 2.40:1 framed, AVC-encoded picture is fantastic. The film just has a bit of visual flair that adds to the energetic tone of the movie. Some of the scenes showing off the buildings of Los Angeles — a nod to Tom’s architectual ambitions — look great as well.

This did, though. I swear.

VIBRATION: ★★★½☆
This is not a film to show off your surround sound system, but you already knew that. Nonetheless, there are a few complaints that could arise with regards to how much the sound is confined to the center channel. It’s a dialogue-driven film, so it’s good that one can always tell what’s being said, but even when some songs are played prominently, there isn’t much going on in the surround channels. But this is more than a solid audio experience overall.

How much force you can put out is basically how high you are going to jump. Increase strength = Increase force.
